Nokia Media Streamer with Android TV 9.0 and dedicated remote launched in India for Rs 3,499

Flipkart formed a strategic partnership with Nokia last year to manufacture and sell Nokia-branded televisions in India. The company has already launched a slew of Nokia TVs in India, the latest being the 65-inch 4K smart TV with Android 9 Pie and the 43-inch model.

Now, the e-commerce giant has launched the Nokia Media Streamer in India. The new streaming device will go up against the recently-launched Mi TV Stick and Amazon Fire Stick. The Nokia Media Streamer will go on sale on Flipkart starting August 28th.

The Nokia Media Streamer connects to your TV using the HDMI port and to the Internet through Wi-Fi to access online content. The streaming device boots Android TV 9.0 operating system. The media streamer is powered by an unspecified quad-core processor, which is backed by a Mali-450 GPU.

The processor onboard is accompanied by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage for installed apps and app data. The Nokia Media Streamer supports streaming up to full HD resolution and features Dolby Audio. The streaming device also comes with built-in Google Chromecast.

Users get access to the Play Store to download third-party apps. The company is offering a Bluetooth remote control with the device, which features dedicated buttons for Netflix and ZEE5.

The Nokia Media Streamer has been priced at Rs 3,499 in India. It will be available in a single black colour variant and go on sale starting August 28th.
