We reported last week that HMD Global is gearing up to announce a flagship Nokia smartphone — allegedly Nokia 8 — at MWC in Barcelona next month. Now, details related to yet another Nokia handset — Nokia P1 — have surfaced online. If the report is to believe, the upcoming Nokia phone is to be based on Sharp AQUOS Xx3, which was introduced last year.
As far as rumoured specs are concerned, Nokia P1 sports a 5.3-inch Full HD display with the layer of Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Powering internally is an octa-core Snapdragon 835 processor combined with 6GB RAM and Adreno 540 GPU. The device comes in two memory options — 128GB and 256GB, expandable up to 256GB via microSD.
Nokia P1 houses a 22.6MP rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, Carl ZEISS optics, and 4K Video recording ability. Up front is a secondary camera for capturing selfies. It packs in Android 7.0 Nougat in addition to a 3500mAh battery with Quick Charge 4 support. It also comes with an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and IP55 / IP57 ratings for dust and water resistance.
In terms of connectivity, Nokia P1 is said to support 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS. It could be priced at $800 (approx. Rs 54,460) for 128GB variant and $950 (approx. Rs 64,670) for 256GB variant. Do remember that none of the information mentioned in this article is confirmed at the time of writing.
