Nokia had launched its first laptop, the Nokia Booklet 3G way back in 2009. The Finnish brand is now set to make a comeback in the laptop market. Walmart-owned e-commerce platform Flipkart has put up a landing page for Nokia’s upcoming laptop.
The teaser officially confirms the ‘Purebook’ name and hints at the availability of the device on the e-commerce platform. The upcoming Nokia Purebook is teased to be ultralight, powerful and immersive. The laptop will be revealed soon although an exact date is not known yet.
Nokia Purebook expected specifications
From the teaser, we can expect the Nokia Purebook to feature the latest Intel processors, a lightweight design and a display with narrow bezels.
Recently, Nokia-branded laptops were spotted on the BIS certification site. The listing revealed as many as nine different variants with model numbers NKi510UL82S, NKi510UL85S, NKi510UL165S, NKi510UL810S, NKi510UL1610S, NKi310UL41S, NKi310UL42S, NKi310UL82S, and NKi310UL85S. According to a report, the NK refers to the Nokia branding while the i5 and i3 are processor options. From the model numbers, the Nokia Purebook could debut with five variants offering Core i5 chipset and four variants with i3 chipset.
All the models are likely to use Intel’s 10th generation Core processors and not the new Tiger Lake-based 11th generation Core processors. Apart from this, there is not much information about Nokia Purebook available for now. It is likely that Flipkart is licensing Nokia brand for laptops like it did for smart TVs. We will know more details in the coming weeks.
With the Nokia Purebook, the company will join the likes of Xiaomi and Honor that offer their laptops in the Indian market. Vaio is making comeback with Ryzen-powered laptops soon and Realme is also rumoured to enter the laptop category soon.
