After entering the battlefield once again with newly launched Nokia 6, the Finnish tech company is now planning to win another war. Lately, the battle for building own voice assistant has got a spark after the search giant introduced Google Assistant exclusively for its Pixel lineup. Following this trend, Samsung has announced its own voice assistant Bixby for next flagship device Galaxy S8, Amazon Alex is there for a long time which is now going to be incorporated into Huawei’s next flagship device. Apple is the longest warrior of this battle and has been keeping the ground ever since it launched Siri in 2011.
Now as per the reports, Nokia is also busy in building in its own AI voice assistant named as Viki. Just a day ago, Nokia has applied for a trademark in the European Union for its own AI-enabled voice assistant. The EU received the application in which Nokia described the Viki as “software for the creation and monitoring of mobile and web assistants working with digital knowledge and combining all data sources into a single chat and voice-based interface.”
If it turns out to be true, the Finnish company has just joined the club of Apple, Google, Amazon and Microsoft with this move. Although it seems like Nokia is working on voice assistant, but there are few other rumours which claim otherwise. According to these rumours, Viki may not be a voice assistant but just another project from the company.
