A few days back, an unknown Nokia smartphone with the model number TA-1124 was certified by the Bluetooth SIG. The same device has now appeared on the FCC website, suggesting that it could soon be made official by HMD Global Oy.
Nokia TA-1124 Launching Soon?
HMD Global is currently working on a few new smartphones, including the much-awaited Nokia 9 PureView flagship and the entry-level Nokia 2.1 Plus. The TA-1124, however, is expected to be a different device as the Bluetooth certification had revealed it supports the Bluetooth 4.2 standard instead of the latest 5.0. The FCC documents reveal the smartphone will be powered by a 12nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor under the hood. HMD has paired the Snapdragon 439 chipset with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While the display resolution is yet to be confirmed, the FCC filings reveal the device will have a 5.99-inch sized display. In the camera department, Nokia TA-1124 will have a 13MP + 5MP dual-camera setup on the back and an 8MP selfie snapper on the front. Fueling the internals of the smartphone will be a 3400mAh capacity battery. On the software front, TA-1124 will be running on the latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box.
Most Nokia fans, however, are waiting for HMD Global to release the Nokia 9 PureView. Three variants of the upcoming Nokia flagship were recently certified by the Bluetooth SIG: TA-1082, TA-1087, and TA-1094. It should be noted that the TA-1094 was also spotted on China’s 3C and MIIT certification agencies recently. If rumors are to be believed, the Nokia 9 PureView will sport a 5.9-inch OLED display with Quad HD+ resolution. Under the hood, rumors claim the smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 instead of the latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. The octa-core processor will be paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Its main highlight, however, will be the penta-camera setup on the back. In terms of battery life as well, the Nokia 9 PureView is likely to be quite impressive, all thanks to a large 4150mAh capacity battery. As for software, the next flagship smartphone from HMD Global Oy will be running on the Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box and is likely to be a part of the Android One program.
