On: February 15, 2019

HMD Global is currently gearing up to launch its next flagship smartphone at its Mobile World Congress 2019 press conference in Barcelona on February 24. Along with the flagship Nokia 9 PureView, the Finnish company is expected to announce a few other new Android smartphones as well. Ahead of the MWC event next week, Bluetooth SIG has certified a mysterious Nokia smartphone with the model number TA-1140.

Nokia ‘TA-1140′ Could Debut at MWC 2019 Next Week

The Nokia TA-1140 Bluetooth certification describes it as being a “4G smartphone with Bluetooth support”. Its marketing name has not been listed in the certification, so its identity is a mystery at this point. The only key information revealed by Bluetooth SIG is that the ‘TA-1140′ comes with Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy support. While we cannot be sure, there is a good chance that the TA-1140 is a variant of the upcoming Nokia 6.2. There is also a possibility of it being a variant of the mid-range Nokia 8.1 Plus instead.

The Nokia 6.2 is rumored to feature a 6.2-inch sized IPS LCD display with a punch-hole for the selfie camera. Since HMD Global has not launched any smartphone with a punch-hole display yet, Nokia 6.2 could be the company’s first model to have an In-display selfie camera. The budget Android smartphone is rumored to be powered by a 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor, coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. The base variant, however, will include 4GB of RAM. In terms of optics, the smartphone will have a dual-camera setup on the back with Zeiss optics and support for OZO audio recording. It is also rumored to pack a 3500mAh capacity battery with fast charging support. On the software front, you can expect the Nokia 6.2 to be part of the Android One program and ship with the Android Pie operating system out of the box.
