Update: Another variant of the upcoming Nokia smartphone with model number TA-1150 has also been certified by the FCC. The FCC filings reveal the TA-1150 and TA-1157 will be identical in terms of hardware specifications.
A mysterious Nokia smartphone bearing model number TA-1157 had appeared on the EEC certification agency website last month. Along with the TA-1157, the Russian certification agency had also certified the TA-1130 and TA-1156 smartphones. The TA-1157 has now surfaced on the FCC website.
TA-1157 Could be an Upcoming Budget Android Smartphone
The TA-1157 FCC certification reveals the handset could be a budget Android smartphone that may launch very soon. While no detailed hardware specifications of the handset have been revealed in the FCC filings, they reveal it will support Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.2 Low Energy standards. There is also a reference to a 3000mAh capacity battery fueling the internals of the handset. HMD Global will be sourcing the battery from two different manufacturers for the TA-1157: Jiade Energy Technology (Zhuhai) and Sunwoda Electronic. The FCC documents also confirm that the device will be part of the Android One program, just like the company’s other smartphones. Apart from these details, the FCC filings reveal the handset will measure 148.95 x 71.3mm in terms of size. In the memory department, the Nokia TA-1157 will be offered in two configurations: 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. The smartphone will also sport a dual-camera setup on the back, along with a circular fingerprint sensor.
HMD Global is rumored to unveil three new smartphones at MWC 2019: Nokia 9 PureView, Nokia 8.1 Plus, and Nokia 1 Plus. The Nokia 1 Plus is tipped to feature a 480 x 960 qHD+ resolution display panel, although the display size has not been revealed yet. Under the hood, it could be powered by a MediaTek MT6739WW quad-core processor, clubbed with 1GB of RAM. In addition to the Nokia 1 Plus, HMD Global is also expected to introduce the Nokia 8.1 Plus at its Mobile World Congress press conference in Barcelona next month. The main highlight of HMD Global’s MWC 2019 press conference, however, will be the flagship Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras and a 5.99-inch QHD PureDisplay.
