Nothing Phone (1) launch event will be held on July 12th, 2022, in India. In April this year, Nothing confirmed that it is working on its first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1). In the second week of this month, the company gradually started rolling out the teasers of the smartphone without revealing its specifications. However, now several sources have revealed almost everything about this upcoming handset.

The Nothing Phone (1) will be unveiled on July 12th, 2022, in India and global markets. It is unclear whether the company will be releasing any other products alongside the Phone (1).

A recent leak revealed that the Nothing Phone (1) will be arriving in as many as three variants: 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage. These models are rumoured to be priced at Rs 31,000, Rs 32,000, and Rs 36,000, respectively.

The handset will be available for purchase through Flipkart in India. It is speculated that the device will be sold offline through Reliance Digital. As shown in the image above, it will come in black and white shades.

Apart from revealing the design, which features an attractive LED layout and confirming its processor, Nothing has not revealed anything else about the device. Still, it has been receiving the pre-orders of the phone on an invite-only basis.

From June 24th to June 30th, Nothing provided its community members with an invitation code for a pre-order pass through an email. To secure the pass via Flipkart, users need to pay a refundable amount of Rs 2,000 before June 30th. Customers with the pre-order pass can purchase the phone at 9 pm on July 12th, through Flipkart. The Rs. 2,000 deposit for the pass will be deducted from the final price of the phone.

The Nothing Phone (1) will feature a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with a punch-hole placed at the upper-left corner. It will support a Full HD+ resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and 10-bit colours. The front and rear sides of the phone will be flanked by Gorilla Glass panels.

Multiple LED strips surrounding the rear camera unit, wireless charging coils, and other places are available on the backside of the device. The back LEDs can show different light patterns depending on who is calling, when a notification comes in, whether or not the phone is charging, and more.

The Nothing Phone (1) will have a 16-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls. Its rear camera setup will house a 50-megapixel main camera with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS / EIS support. The handset will offer photography features, such as scene detection, night mode, live HDR, and 4K video recording at 60fps.

The Phone (1) is powered by the Snapdragon 778G Plus chipset. It will be accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. It will pack a 4,500mAh battery, which is said to support 45W wired charging. The device will also support wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.

The smartphone will run on the Android 12 OS, which will be overlaid with the Nothing OS UI. It will be like stock Android, with 40 percent fewer apps already installed and no bloatware. The device will be treated with 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates.
