Now Search & Send GIFs Right Within WhatsApp For Android

On: January 11, 2017

Facebook-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has finally integrated GIF search option within Android beta. Meaning, you no longer require to upload GIFs manually or need to have third-party apps or Giphy client installed on your phone. You will instead get an option to search GIFs and share them right away. It has been quite sometime since WhatsApp started allowing users to convert videos and share them as GIFs. Beta testers then could share GIFs saved on their devices. Furthermore, WhatsApp allowed the web client users to search and upload GIFs on chat. iOS users are using this feature since November last year.

The life cycle has now completed with WhatsApp allowing smartphone users to search and share GIF without leaving the app. The feature is accessible by tapping the emoji icon in WhatsApp’s text box. Once done, you will notice a new bar at the bottom to switch GIF and emoji. Choosing the GIF option will take you into the whole new world of popular GIFs, so that you can choose and send to your contact right away. If you want to insert GIFs of your choice, you can do so by searching for a keyword and choose the suitable animation.

In addition to this, WhatsApp now lets users share 30 pictures simultaneously. Earlier, the media file sharing restricted to 10 images. Meaning, you no longer need to go back and for sharing more than 10 and less than 30 pictures. However, it must be noted that both the features are currently limited for WhatsApp’s Android beta version 2.17.7. Hence, if you are not a beta tester already, go to Play Store and find an option to opt for beta testing at the bottom of the app page.
