Recently, the popular chipset maker Qualcomm introduced its latest flagship processor called the Snapdragon 865 at the Qualcomm Summit 2019 event. Soon after the announcement, many brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and Motorola revealed that they will launch handsets powered by the latest Qualcomm SoC. Now, the Chinese phone maker nubia has also announced that it will be launching Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor-powered Red Magic series handsets as soon as early next year. Notably, the company has announced that India will be amongst the first markets to witness the launch of these devices. It’s worth mentioning that the upcoming Snapdragon 865 chipset powered nubia Redmi Magic series handsets will have support for the next-gen 5G networks.
nubia hasn’t yet announced anything about the specifications of the upcoming 5G Red Magic smartphones at the moment. However, you can expect them to flaunt flagship-grade specifications like multiple cameras on the back and the latest version of Android i.e. Android 10. Also, since the Snapdragon 865 processor doesn’t have built-in support for 5G connectivity, these handsets will likely be also equipped with Qualcomm’s X55 modem for support for the high-speed networks. Notably, handsets powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor will be able to support cameras up to 200-megapixels in resolution and record videos at 8K resolution at 30fps.
Talking about the most recent launch by nubia in India, the company released the Red Magic 3S in the country in December. The flagship offering flaunts Qualcomm’s previous-gen chipset called the Snapdragon 855+. The device has an impressive 6.65-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with a high screen refresh rate of 90Hz and a 240Hz touch response rate. The other highlights include up to 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. The device is available in the country at the starting price of Rs 35,999.
