The Nubia Red Magic 6R has launched in China today. It is the third smartphone in the Red Magic 6 series after the standard and Pro variants that launched in March this year. The latest offering comes with slightly different specifications compared to the other two variants.
The Red Magic 6R also features a different design compared to the standard and Pro models. The smartphone comes with dual shoulder keys for an enhanced gaming experience. Read on to know what the Red Magic 6R offers out of the box.
Red Magic 6R specifications and features
The Red Magic 6R sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display bearing FHD+ resolution and a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. It offers a 144Hz refresh rate, 770 nits peak brightness and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The smartphone has an elongated island on the back housing a rectangular camera module.
In the photography department, the Red Magic 6R is equipped with quad-cameras. The setup comprises a 64MP main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro unit and a 2MP depth sensor. The device is fitted with a 16MP front-facing camera.
The Red Magic 6R houses a Snapdragon 888 processor. It packs up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage. The device is equipped with a liquid cooling system for heat dissipation. The smartphone draws its power from a 4,200mAh battery unit with support for 55W fast charging. Software-wise, it runs RedMagic OS 4.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.
Connectivity options on the Red Magic 6R include 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS.
Red Magic 6R pricing and availability
The Red Magic 6R carries a price tag of RMB 2,999 (~Rs 34,157) for the 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB configuration retails at RMB 3,299 (~Rs 37,560). The smartphone is offered in Phantom Black and Streamer Silver colours and will be available for purchase in China from June.
