Nubia has officially announced the Z20 flagship phone in China. It is one of the most unique flagship phones of this year since it is equipped with two displays, one on the front and the other one on the rear. It is powered by the latest Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset and features a triple camera unit.
Nubia Z20 Specifications and Features
The Nubia Z20 features a curved AMOLED display measuring 6.42-inches on the front. It supports full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The rear side of the smartphone is fitted with a smaller curved AMOLED display measuring 5.1-inches. It offers HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,520 pixels and a 19:9 aspect ratio. Both screens feature a 10000:1 contrast ratio and 100 percent NTSC color gamut. They also come with the Always-On Display feature for viewing notifications and the clock without turning on the entire screen.
The 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855+ chipset is present under the hood of the Nubia Z20. The handset comes with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of native storage. There is no microSD card slot on the device. Android 9 Pie overlaid with the latest version of Nubia UI takes care of the software. The phone offers dual screen switching, which can show the contents of the front display on the secondary one, or vice-versa when flipped to other side. The handset is backed by a 4,000mAh battery that carries support for 27W fast charging.
There is no front camera on the Nubia Z20 thanks to the secondary display, which functions as a viewfinder for selfie shots. The rear of the phone features has a horizontal triple camera setup powered by two LED flash units. It includes a Sony IMX586 48-megapixel camera with OIS, a 16-megapixel superwide lens with a 122.2-degree field-of-view and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens. The triple cameras can shoot 30x digital zoom, 8K resolution videos, slow-motion videos. Each side of the phone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
Nubia Z20 Price and Availability
The 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version carries a price tag of 3,499 Yuan (~Rs 35,200). It comes in a Diamond Black colour. The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the Nubia Z20 comes in three colours like Diamond Black, Koi Red and Starry Blue and it is priced at 3,499 Yuan (~Rs 37,200). The 8GB RAM + 512GB storage variant of the smartphone carries a price tag of 4,199 Yuan (~Rs 42,200). The pre-orders of the smartphone have started from today in China and its first sale will be carried out on August 16th. There is no word on its availability outside of China.
