Obi Worldphone is gearing up to launch Obi Worldphone MV1 in India this month, The Mobile Indian reports. The company is said to have partnered an e-commerce portal ShopClues, which will sell at the price of Rs 5,500. To recall, Obi Worldphone MV1 was initially unveiled at last year’s MWC event in Spain. Hence, it should be noted that the phone will carry year-old hardware specifications at the time of landing in India.
Obi Worldphone MV1 sports a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and an oleophobic coating on top. Inside are a 1.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor Adreno 304 GPU, and 1GB RAM. The company also has yet another variant embracing 2GB RAM. The device is backed by a 2500mAh battery and Android 5.1 Lollipop. Furthermore, the phone packs in 16GB internal memory, further expandable up to 64GB via microSD.
As far as photography is concerned, you will get an 8MP primary camera supported LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, and 1080p Full HD video recording. Up front is 2MP secondary camera for selfies and video calling. It is a Dual-SIM phone that comes with one Micro and one Nano SIM slot. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, WI-Fi (dual-band), Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, and microUSB 2.0. The phone lacks support for a fingerprint scanner.
Obi Worldphone MV1 will reportedly be available to purchase exclusively on ShopClues for Rs 5,500. The company is expected to unveil only a 1GB RAM variant.
