MWC 2017 is scheduled at the end of this month, and we wouldn’t be surprised if Lenovo unveils its new tablet at the Mecca of tech. The Chinese smartphone maker is said to be working a tablet dubbed as Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus as a successor of Tab3 7 Plus which was launched in September last year.
Well, before the company could launch the tablet, we already got our hands on the specs sheet and official images of the device through a recent leak. Talking about the specs, the Tab3 8 Plus sports an 8-inch WUXGA display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 625 is known to be the most power efficient processor from Qualcomm, thus have become the first choice for many smartphone maker companies. I.e., few of the most promising smartphone launched in this year such as Redmi Note 4, Lenovo P2, Vivo V5 Plus launched in India are powered by the same processor. The tab also features a dark grey colored highlighted MicroSD card slot offering further expandable storage.
The Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus packs in a massive 4250mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is little disappointing to know. It features an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front facing camera for capturing selfies. The tab also features stereo speakers powered by Dolby Atmos sound technology.
The company is expected to launch variants of the tab – a WiFi-only and 4G LTE version. The LTE version support both the WiFi and LTE network and will be costlier than the other variant. Apart from that, both the variant will come with same features including Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS and a microUSB 2.0 port.
Looking at the official images, the Lenovo Tab3 8 Plus will be available in two colors – silver and blue. Overall, the device has a premium look, and a special translucent finish makes it appear even more elegant. There’s no word on the pricing of the tablet, but we’re expecting it to come with a price tag of Rs 15,000 or less.
