- Company CEO Bhavish Aggarwal added that deliveries could take 2-3 days in some regions
- The Ola S1 series has seen tremendous success since it was launched last year
- Ola Electric recently took the wraps off the affordable Ola S1 Air
Ola Electric has amped up its e-scooter push following the launch of the cheaper Ola S1 Air, which complements existing models like the S1 and the S1 Pro. In a bid to meet the growing demand for e-scooters across the country, Ola Electric CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, has vowed to commence same-day deliveries for the vehicle (wherever available) or within two-three following the booking.
This promise by the company’s CEO is significant, particularly considering Ola’s troubles with timely deliveries in the past. Although Aggarwal has promised to have Ola S1 models delivered faster than usual, some states/cities may have a prolonged registration process, which could push the date further. But in the company’s defence, the time taken for vehicle registration is dependent on local laws and regulations, and Ola Electric has no control over this.
Meanwhile, the company has ramped up its retail presence in additional cities spanning almost all corners of the country. Ola Electric says it intends to open more showrooms over the next few months.
Can Ola maintain its momentum in the e-scooter business?
As 91Mobiles mentions, the Ola S1 series has been a success story for the company since its arrival in October 2021. Since then, the company has produced over 1,00,000 units of the e-scooter lineup, making the manufacturer among the fastest in the country to reach this feat.
With new arrivals like the Hero Vida V1, it will be interesting to see if Ola Electric can maintain this momentum in the e-scooter space. Barring Hero MotoCorp’s offering, several other options exist in the Indian market, including the recently launched Stella Buzz.
