Ola teases its electric car yet again; Offers a new glimpse at the interiors

  • The Ola EV has been teased on numerous occasions in the past
  • Ola is expected to release its first EV only by 2024
  • The EV is expected to cost between Rs 40-50 lakhs when it arrives

In a bid to maintain relevancy in a quickly changing Indian EV business, Ola Electric has posted a new teaser of its much-hyped EV, highlighting some of its features on the occasion of Diwali. A video teaser posted by the manufacturer provides an early look at the interiors of the new EV, from the steering wheel to the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster.

At first glance, it’s clear that the company wants to stand out from the crowd with a unique rectangular-shaped steering wheel. Interestingly, the company has also included touch-sensitive controls within the steering wheel, which is certainly new for the Indian automobile industry. 91Mobiles speculates that some of these buttons could be user-configurable.

A brief look at the front of the EV reveals a slick headlamp setup with a white LED strip acting as a bridge between the two. It’s hard to ascertain the design of the EV from the 20-second teaser posted by the company, though it’s likely to be a sedan, in line with previous teasers.

Ola EV expected price

Since Ola isn’t expected to launch its first EV until 2024, there isn’t a confirmed price range for the automobile. However, speaking to PTI in August, the CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal suggested that the company may price the EV in the Rs 40-50 lakh range. We may have to wait a few more months until we get more clarity on that front.

Ola’s EV will come at a time when the Indian electric car market will have significantly more options than there are today. With Mahindra officially launching its first EV in January 2023 and more on the way for 2024 and beyond, Ola’s new premium electric car may arrive at a tricky time.
