The OnePlus 10 Pro debuted in China last month and is yet to hit the global markets. It is expected to launch outside its home country in March or April. The OnePlus 10 Pro meets the same fate as last year’s Redmi Note 10 and the ASUS ROG Phone 5.

OnePlus 10 Pro fails durability test

The YouTube video shared by JerryRigEverything is 10 minutes long. It starts with scratch test, which shows the OnePlus 10 Pro’s display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, scratches at level 6. On the Mohs scale of hardness, the smartphone develops deeper grooves at level 7. The optical fingerprint scanner worked despite the scratches. The side frame and buttons are made up of aluminium.

The YouTuber then conducts a flame test by holding a lighter up to the AMOLED display. It lasts for 40 seconds and then the screen gets toasted by the flame.

At the 7:09 minute mark, JerryRigEverything tries bending the OnePlus 10 Pro from the back panel. The back cracks first just below the horizontal camera module. On the second attempt from the front side, the phone just snaps into two. The smartphone completely stopped working after this except the LED flash. Upon opening the back of the device, the YouTuber reveals that only the aluminium rails support the phone against being bent/snapped due to the size and placement of the battery unit.

The durability test conducted by the YouTuber is quite extreme here, however, this is not something that you would want to see from a flagship device.
