OnePlus sends CES 2022 invite; might launch OnePlus 10 series

  • OnePlus will be holding an event at the CES 2022 tech expo
  • It may announce the OnePlus 10 Pro flagship
  • It is rumoured to feature a 120Hz QHD+ display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip

OnePlus 10 Pro launch event is rumoured to take place in Q1 2022. A new tweet by reliable tipster Max Jambor reveals that the OnePlus will be physically present at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 tech exhibition that will be held at Las Vegas, USA. Probably, the company will take off covers from the OnePlus 10 Pro flagship phone at the CES 2022 event.

Previously, Jambor had revealed that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be launching first in China in January or February 2022 followed by its global launch in March or April. Reports have revealed that apart from sporting a renewed rear design, it will offer key specs like a Quad HD+ display, 84-megapixel triple cameras, Qualcomm’s latest flagship chip, and a massive battery.

OnePlus to host event at CES 2022

The CES 2022 tech expo will be held between January 5th and January 8th at Las Vegas. The poster shared by the tipster does not explicitly mention that the OnePlus 10 Pro will be launching at CES 2022. Since it confirms that OnePlus will be announcing something at the tech expo on January 5th, it is being speculated that the OnePlus 10 Pro may debut on the said date.

OnePlus is not known for hosting events at CES. However, it had showcased a concept device named OnePlus Concept One at CES 2020, which was held back in January 2020. Hence, it is likely that the company may not announce the OnePlus 10 Pro at CES 2022, but unveil a different product such as a concept device, or the rumoured Nord N20 5G handset, or some accessories. Hence, it is advisable to wait for further reports to know which OnePlus product will be announced at the CES.

OnePlus 10 Pro specifications (expected)

The OnePlus 10 Pro will come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED Quad HD+ display with curved edges. The punch-hole screen is expected to carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate. It may come with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and a 48-megapixel (main) + 50-megapixel (ultrawide) + 8-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered OnePlus 10 Pro will come with 8GB / 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB / 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will house a 5,000mAh battery and it may ship with Android 12 OS. For security, it is expected to feature an in-display fingerprint scanner.
