OnePlus 11 confirmed to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, tipped to focus on design and performance

OnePlus 11 is confirmed to be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The Chinese brand announced on Weibo that the OnePlus 11 ‘will be the first’ to offer the said chipset. Additionally, the brand is also ditching the Pro moniker, as previously reported. 

Qualcomm announced the second-generation flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC yesterday. OnePlus is yet to reveal the exact launch timeline of its upcoming flagship.

OnePlus 11 teased to come with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC

It remains to be seen whether the OnePlus 11 will be the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered smartphone. Other brands, including Xiaomi, iQOO, Vivo, and more, are also expected to announce devices with the latest chipset in the coming months. As per our exclusive report, iQoo will launch the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered smartphone later this month. Coming back to OnePlus, rumours suggest that the upcoming flagship may debut in China as early as next month compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro that was announced in January this year. 

In a teaser poster, OnePlus also revealed that it plans to launch the first open platform for mobile optical tracking. The upcoming device will offer peak performance. Apart from this, there is no additional information about the OnePlus 11. 

Past reports have revealed design and specification details about the upcoming OnePlus 11. In the latest development, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that this generation (OnePlus 11) would mainly focus on design and performance. The device will arrive with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with curved edges bearing a QHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The engineering prototype of the device is said to have a metal middle frame and a body made of ceramic.

On the hardware front, the OnePlus 11 is tipped to feature up to 16GB RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 100W charging.
