- OnePlus 11 has broken pre-sales record in China
- It could be the only OnePlus flagship phone from in the first half of 2023
- OnePlus may not launch the OnePlus 11 Pro
OnePlus 11 Pro may not release this year, suggests a Weibo post released by OnePlus China President Li Jie. Yesterday, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus 11 in China. To recall, the company announced the OnePlus 10 Pro in January 2022, and it remained the only OnePlus flagship phone in the first half of the year. The OnePlus 10T was released later in 2022.
The OnePlus 11 has arrived in China with an enticing starting price of RMB 3,999 (~Rs 48,100). Hence, the phone is receiving a stupendous response in the home market. The company is now accepting its pre-orders ahead of the January 9th, 2023, sale date in China. Li Jie confirmed that the OnePlus OP11 broke the brand’s pre-sale record in just two hours of being available for pre-order.
OnePlus 11 Pro may not release in 2023
“There is no OnePlus 11 Pro, but the OnePlus 11 is a phone in place,” reads the machine-translated text of Li Jie’s recent Weibo post shown above. It appears that Jie is saying that it will not be releasing the OnePlus 11 Pro. Instead of the Pro model, the company has released the OP11. OnePlus has not released an official statement on whether it will not release a OnePlus 11 Pro model this year. Hence, it is advisable to wait for an official announcement from the brand before drawing into any conclusions.
In a media briefing after the OnePlus 11 launch event, Jie said that the company will focus on launching products priced between RMB 2,000 (~Rs 24,050) and RMB 5,000 (~Rs 60,100). He added that the company will release a top-notch device in each price segment. This indicates that OnePlus may continue to launch numbered series as well as its Ace lineup of smartphones in 2023, like it did in China last year.
To those unaware, the company does not sell Ace-branded OnePlus phones in the global market. Instead, the Ace models are released under different names in other markets. In the same way, the company does not release Nord-branded phones in China. While there is no word on the 11R’s India launch date, the OnePlus 11 is scheduled to debut on February 7th, 2023.
Hence, it seems that the OnePlus Ace 2 could be the next product from the brand for the Chinese market. Speculations are rife that the Ace 2 will debut with the OnePlus 11R in India. It will run on an underclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, according to our exclusive report.
In the second half of 2023, the brand may launch the OnePlus 11T. This phone is expected to succeed the OnePlus 10T, which debuted in the second half of 2022.
