After a series of rumoured renders and leaks of the much awaited OnePlus 5, the company decided to give a peek of the new flagship just a few days before the launch. Recently, it took to Twitter to announce that the phone will be launching globally on June 20th. On the same day, Android Police released an image which looks exactly similar to the official one.

Multiple similar leaks might be one of the reasons why OnePlus decided to reveal the first look before the launch, which also confirms the dual camera setup. This is the official picture released by OnePlus.
Needless to say, it looks strikingly similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. The positioning of the dual cameras, LED flash and even the antenna bands are identical in both the phones.
At first, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the phone will pack the Snapdragon 835 SoC. Now, the image of the yet to be launched phone is tweeted by the company’s official handle. It might not be a good idea to reveal so many details prior to the launch, the launch day hype completely dies in such cases. The design of new flagship phones are probably the major thing people keep anticipating till the launch, but not anymore for OnePlus 5.
Today, True-tech.net also released a table where it lists the OnePlus 5’s price in India. According to this table, the phone will be available in 6GB and 8GB variants, they will also be the company’s most expensive handsets at INR 32,999 and INR 37,999 respectively. Whether these prices are true will be known officially only on June 20th (or before?).
OnePlus has also announced that the 3T would continue to sell in India even after the launch of OnePlus 5. This makes us believe that the OnePlus 5 would be priced at a bit of premium, just like the price leaks show.
Recently, a benchmark listing for the new OnePlus 5 also surfaced on Geekbench which confirms the 8GB model. It is worth noting that OnePlus 3 was one of the first devices on the market with a 6GB RAM and OnePlus 5 seems to be keeping up with the tradition.
Now, we probably are aware about most of the features packed into OnePlus 5, including its new design. However, if OnePlus still surprises us on the launch day with something we don’t know yet, it will be worth the wait.
