OnePlus 5 all set to be unveiled on June 20th

The much awaited OnePlus 5 has now got an official launch date and it’s just a few days away, on June 20th. The phone is all set to be unveiled at 9:30 PM IST (12 PM EDT). The global launch event will be live streamed for everyone to see.

The news was confirmed by OnePlus’s twitter handle which put out a teaser with the message, “Focus on What Matters”.

This tagline has an uncanny resemblance with Apple’s promotional messages for the portrait mode in the iPhone 7 Plus

OnePlus already announced that it will be partnering with DxO Labs to improvise the cameras of every phone they launch. Thus, this new tagline might be a hint towards the new superior dual camera setup which will probably the biggest advancement in the OnePlus 5. Previously, an Android Authority leak showed the renders of the dual camera setup.

We also know that the phone will boast the Snapdragon 835 chipset and will have the fingerprint scanner on the front. Fortunately, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also confirmed that the new flagship will have a headphone jack. Phew!

OnePlus 5 will most probably come with a 5.5 inch Full HD display but it might cut down on the bezels to reduce the phone’s overall footprint, just like the current smartphone trend seems to be. This was also hinted a few days ago through the company’s official twitter handle.

All the other details about the phone are still awaited and we will have to tune into the live stream on the launch day to catch up with it.

The global launch of OnePlus 5 is scheduled on June 20th, 9:30 PM. However, the India launch will happen on June 22nd, 2 PM.
