OnePlus is a brand that draws more attention among tech community than the established ones. Of course, why shouldn’t it? It’s a brand which focuses on only one thing – product. OnePlus is also known for launching only flagship devices and keeping its spotlight on one product at a time. Last year, the company launched two flagship devices breaking its own convention and now it’s time for another one – OnePlus 5. You must be wondering what about OnePlus 4? Well, if the latest reports are true, the company will probably skip the number four as it is believed to bring bad luck in China. However, Xiaomi is also a Chinese smartphone company and has launched the Redmi 4 in China in November last year. Therefore, it contradicts the theory and we can’t really say for sure that OnePlus will skip the number four.
As per the report from PCPop, the next flagship device OnePlus 5 will feature similar specs as Galaxy S8, LG G6 and the upcoming iPhone 8. And, there’s no need to mention that it will give them a run for their money. Let’s just hope, it won’t be a turn off as OnePlus 2.
The report claims that the OnePlus 5 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset and pack a massive 8GB of RAM. However, I personally believe that the company is not likely to follow, “The bigger, the better” ideology. So, I guess the size of RAM will stay the same.
Furthermore, the report also claims that the phone will sport a 23-megapixel dual rear camera setup featuring optical zoom and OIS (optical image stabilisation). It is said to sport a 5.5-inch display with a 2K resolution and fingerprint scanner located on the back panel. The report also claims the device will have a thickness of 7mm only.
Well, this is just an initial speculation. So, we recommend you to take it with a pinch of salt.
