OnePlus 5T Spotted on GFXBench, Launch Event Might be in New York City

OnePlus introduced the 3T last year around the same time to everyone’s surprise. This year when the brand launched the OnePlus 5, it felt quite unlikely that there will be a ‘T’ model. But, OnePlus 5T was confirmed by the Chinese firm on social media just a few days back, and now, it has teased the launch event location for the device. The new OnePlus 5T is set to launch in Manhattan, New York City probably sometime later this month. Apart from this, the phone was also spotted on GFXBench which sheds light on some interesting details about the upcoming device.

As soon as the rumours about OnePlus 5T came out, most people felt exactly what it was, just rumours. But new revelations surfaced and OnePlus officially started teasing (another one)about it on social media hinting towards the OnePlus 5T, confirming the rumours. Even OnePlus’ founders began putting out pictures (more and more) clicked from the 5T. Thus, we already know what the pictures from the phone might look like.

OnePlus tweeted this image yesterday which hints that the upcoming 5T will be launched in New York City. Since the venue has now been revealed, we can expect the launch event to be announced in the next few days. But even before the phone’s launch, the OnePlus 5T has been spotted on popular benchmarking site GFXBench, according to a report by Techiestate.

Based on the leaks and benchmark spotting, we already know a few things about the phone. The new OnePlus 5T is expected to come with an 18:9 display ratio, which will give it a bezel-less look, a trend followed by most flagships launched this year. The phone might sport a 6.01-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, as per the GFXBench listing.

The same listing also suggests that the front camera resolution will be of 20-megapixel. This might allow the phone to click portrait pictures even from the front camera, just like the newly launched Pixel 2 and iPhone X. In terms of performance specifications, the processor as well as the RAM capacity is expected to stay unchanged from the OnePlus 5. It might come with Android 7.1.2 Nougat instead of Android Oreo. The company has also officially announced that the 5T will retain the headphone jack.

As of now, these details are already known about the phone. With just a few days left for the launch, tell us what more do you expect from the phone? Also, what are your views about OnePlus launching flagship devices in such quick succession?
