OnePlus, the Chinese brand does take Never Settle tagline quite seriously as they gear up to launch their next smartphone, the OnePlus 6. To recall, the OnePlus 5T was launched in November, just 5 months ago. Earlier last week, Carl Pei, founder of OnePlus in an interview with the Verge disclosed that the new smartphone will have a notch similar to the iPhone X.
Considering the notch picking up popularity and OnePlus’ sister company Oppo already having integrated one on its flagship phone, it was expected for the OP 6 to have one as well. Pei did clear the air that the notch wouldn’t be as big as the one on the iPhone X, but bigger than the one on the Essential Phone. A photo of the notch was also made public and its exact dimensions are 19.616mm x 7.687mm.
Yesterday, the company teased the phone’s specifications on Twitter.

The teaser was put up by Pete Lau asking users to 6et Ready. Just like any other 2018 flagship device, the OnePlus 6 will feature the highly efficient and powerful Snapdragon 845 processor. In terms of RAM, the phone will be offered in a 6GB and 8GB variant, just like the OP5 and 5T. This time, however, the company is looking to bump up its internal storage with the higher end variant packing in 256GB of storage. This should be more than enough for any smartphone user.
On the camera side of things, the phone will rock a dual rear camera setup just like its current siblings, but in a different orientation. Taking design cues from the iPhone X yet again, the OnePlus 6 will also have a vertically oriented rear camera system. It is likely that the camera setup will be aligned towards the center of the phone though, unlike the iPhone X and Vivo V9.
With its specifications out of the way, the company also teased a trailer featuring the phone’s title with the Avengers’ logo in the background. This could lead to a special edition of the smartphone that could feature design cues from Marvel’s upcoming movie. Previously, OnePlus collaborated with the Star Wars brand to launch the Sandstone White OnePlus 5T and we can expect an Avengers’ based OP 6 as well. It also hints that the smartphone’s launch can coincide with the new Avengers movie scheduled to release on April 27th.
