OnePlus is known to launch its flagship smartphones biannually. When OnePlus 6 was launched, users speculated whether there will be OnePlus 6T or not like we have seen OnePlus 5T & 3T. To recall, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei had said earlier that the company will launch the 6T only if there’s some new technology to offer to the consumers. Now it looks like the OnePlus 6T is in works as the concept renders that the phone might feature a pop up selfie camera, like the one seen on Vivo Nex and Oppo Find X. Surprisingly, all the three brands i.e. OnePlus, Vivo & Oppo belong to China’s BBK electronics. OnePlus had also launched the OnePlus 6 with notch display after Oppo F7 & Vivo V9. Read on to find out what we know about the concept so far:
Display & Design:
The OnePlus 6T will look a lot like Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex. The concept hints at the noticeable changes on the 6T from its predecessor. The device is expected to flaunt a 6.4-inch Optic AMOLED display without a notch on the top. Both the front and rear side are expected to feature glass panels with aluminium frame and will be shielded by Corning’s newly announced Gorilla Glass 6 for protection. The video also hints at an in-display fingerprint scanner since the front of the phone will be occupied by the screen.
Another surprising feature is the presence of triple rear camera. The 6T will be the second phone after Huawei P20 Pro to incorporate triple camera sensors on the back. On the front, the concept shows a pop up dual selfie camera. The sliding mechanism resembles to that of the Vivo Nex. The front sensors are fixed on a small slider that pops up like the one found on Vivo Nex. The slider won’t be like Oppo Find X where the entire back cover comes up. The front and the back camera could make total of five camera sensors on the phone. However, the specifications of the same are not yet leaked.
Hardware,OS & Battery:
In terms of hardware, the OnePlus 6T is expected to come with a same setup to that of OnePlus 6. The phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. The device is said to come in two RAM variants of 6GB & 8GB. There will be three storage versions of 64GB, 128GB & 256GB. The OnePlus 6T will run on Android 8.1 Oreo OS with the custom Oxygen OS on the top. It will support 3D facial recognition for advanced security purposes. Coming to the battery, the device will be powered by a 3,480 mAh non-removable battery unit. There is no word about wireless charging support, but the OnePlus 6T will come with the traditional Dash Charge technology for quickly powering the device.
The OnePlus 6T could be unveiled in the last quarter since the OnePlus 3T & OnePlus 5T were both launched in November. However users should note that these are just concept renders and speculations. We will have to wait for the OnePlus 6T launch to near before more information starts flowing about the device.
The OnePlus 6T would surely disrupt the mobile market if the manufacturer indeed launches the phone as shown in the concept renders and that too at a competitive price. What do you think?
