A day before the official launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro, the phone has appeared on a Chinese e-commerce website, JD. The portal freely listed the OnePlus 7 Pro on pre-sale along with the pricing, i.e. CNY 9,999 (roughly INR 1,02,364). Moreover, OnePlus China website mentions that the company would be having a standalone event for launching the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in China.
OnePlus will be holding an event at Yanqi Lake, Beijing, China on May 16, 2019. As we already know, OnePlus is simultaneously holding three events in New York, London, and Bangalore on May 14, 2019. The new information about the phone on Chinese e-commerce reveals that the phone has would directly go on sale on May 16 in China. We can expect the same for other regions.
The listing on JD website reads,”In the procurement, it is expected to be available after 2019-05-16.” OnePlus fans in China would be able to get the flagship on the launch day itself, which means that fans India and other global launch venues could expect the same for May 14.
Recently published posters of the OnePlus Pro confirm that the phone would come with support for 90Hz refresh rate on a 6.67-inch display. There will be a substantial difference between the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in terms of design, camera setup, and other key specs. This also means a more significant price gap between the two phones. The listing for the OnePlus 7 Pro on JD website also mentions that the phone has an HDR 10+ display, UFS 3.0 storage, and more.
While most of the information mentioned on JD listing seems believable, we think that the pricing is just indicative for now. The company would change it soon after the launch. The OnePlus 7 Pro will most likely launch at lesser pricing than CNY 9,999 in China. We will get to know all the details as the phone goes official on May 14 in other markets and May 16 in China.
