OnePlus 8 series India pricing to be announced soon, will be more affordable than US prices

The  OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro flagship devices broke cover last night through an online event. Apart from being a worthy upgrade to their predecessors, the OnePlus 8 series smartphones are also the most expensive models from the brand so far. The top-tier 12GB + 256GB model is almost venturing into the premium high-end category with the price tag set at $999 (~Rs 75,900). This doesn’t really come as a surprise since OnePlus had already exited the ‘Flagship Killer’ zone last year, and entered the ‘Flagship’ category with the launch of the OnePlus 7 Pro. If you’re worried that this year’s flagships will be completely out of budget, there’s some good news as the official OnePlus India Twitter handle has dropped a hint that the new smartphones won’t be as expensive as they are in the US.

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro price in India

As you can see in the tweet above, the brand has hinted that the OnePlus 8 series in India might not be as expensive as we initially thought. In the caption, the brand has written that, Good things come to those who w8, which is a nod to the delayed launch in India because of the coronavirus lockdown. The image accompanying the tweet reads, “We don’t speak dollar$, India p₹ices coming soon.” This clearly suggests that OnePlus will price the devices more affordably in India compared to the US. It also indicates that the brand might announce the India prices any day now.
