The OnePlus 8 Pro will get regular security updates till July 2023

The company has confirmed that the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will be receiving quarterly security updates until April 2023. Since the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro debuted in April this year, both phones will get updates for exactly three years.  The OnePlus Nord went official in July this year. It will be getting quarterly security updates until July 2023.

There is no information available on the security updates for other OnePlus phones. The security updates schedule mentioned in the official website only pertains to the users in the Assembly of European Regions (AER). However, global markets are likely to follow the same schedule.

Based on the security updates schedule for the above-mentioned phones, the OnePlus 8T could be provided regular security updates until October 2023 since it went official in the same month this year. While the company has confirmed security updates, it is yet to reveal until when it will be offering Android OS upgrades for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and Nord.

Since the company is known for providing Android upgrades for the starting two years from the launch date of a smartphone, it appears that these devices are entitled to receive Android 11 and Android 12 OS upgrades. The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro have already received OxygenOS 11 based Android 11 update, but the Nord is yet to be served with the Android 11 upgrade. As far as the OnePlus Nord N10 5G and Nord N100 phones are concerned, they are entitled to receive Android version update for one year and security updates for two years.
