OnePlus 8T Concept showcased with color-changing back and motion tracking feature

Like the Concept One, the OnePlus 8T Concept was created by the OnePlus Gaudi team that includes 39 designers from Shenzhen, Taipei, New York, and India. The OnePlus 8T Concept can be seen sporting a curved back and a camera module at the top-left corner. At the front, it features a punch-hole display like the OnePlus 8T. However, the major attraction of the OnePlus 8T Concept includes the abstract pattern on the back that can change colours and the mmWave radar sensor.

The colour changing effect is achieved by means of a metal oxide fused film under the rear glass. When different voltages are applied on it, the film displays different colours ranging from silver, dark blue, and black. It can function as a notification light for an incoming call or a text message.

A mmWave radar sensor that can transmit and receive electromagnetic waves is available inside the camera module of the OnePlus 8T Concept. It allows the device to recognize and track objects. The motion tracker can help users to answer or reject a phone call through hand gestures.

The radar can be used to measure the breathing of another person. It can measure breaths per minute and accordingly change the color of the phone’s back to show how fast that person is breathing. The Chinese firm has developed an app for monitoring breath.

The OnePlus Concept One never went on sale and the same is expected from the OnePlus 8T Concept. It has been built only to showcase the intriguing and innovative features that one may see on forthcoming OnePlus phones.
