LPDDR5 RAM offers a data rate of up to 6,400 Mb/s. It is 1.5 times faster than the LPDDR4x that delivers a data rate of up to 4,266 Mb/s. LPDDR5 RAM consumes 30 percent less power than LPDDR4x RAM. Hence, faster RAM inside the OnePlus 8T and OnePlus 9R will help in improving their overall performance and battery life.

According to XDA Developers, users can check the type of RAM by Installing ADB on their PC. Users are required to connect the OnePlus 8T/9R to the PC and then run on the following command in ADB: adb shell getprop ro.boot.ddr_type

Users can also check the type of RAM available on OnePlus 8T/9R without a PC. It requires users to install the Termux app and then run the following command: getprop ro.boot.ddr_type

If the device is equipped with LPDDR4x RAM, it will return a “0” value. It will show “1” if the device has LPDDR5 RAM.
