OnePlus 8T price in India slashed, OnePlus Nord likely discontinued ahead of Nord CE launch

  • OnePlus 8T from last year has received a price cut of Rs 1,000
  • OnePlus Nord has gone out of stock before Nord CE 5G’s launch
  • It is likely that OnePlus has discontinued the Nord

The OnePlus 8T price in India has been slashed once again. It had received the first price cut when OnePlus had announced the OnePlus 9 (review) and OnePlus 9 Pro in April in India.

At launch, the OnePlus 8T (review) variants such as 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage were priced at Rs 42,999 and Rs 45,999, respectively. After the launch of the OnePlus 9 series, the pricing of both variants was reduced to Rs 39,990 and Rs 42,999, respectively.

With a new price drop of Rs 1,000, the 8GB RAM variant is now available for Rs 38,999, whereas the 12GB RAM model now costs Rs 41,999. The OnePlus 8T variants are available with revised pricing through OnePlus India’s online store and Amazon India.

OnePlus Nord appears to be discontinued

OnePlus Nod out of stock

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G will be arriving in three variants such as 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 12GB RAM + 256GB storage and it may carry a starting price of Rs 22,999. If the pricing is correct, it can impact the sales of the OnePlus Nord 5G, which has been selling for a starting price of Rs 24,999 since launch. The company might have discontinued the Nord 5G since it is no longer available on Amazon India, and it is mentioned as “out of stock” on OnePlus India’s store.

Given that the OnePlus Nord 2 is tipped to launch in India next month, it makes sense that OnePlus would want to discontinue the original Nord.

OnePlus Nord CE 5G specifications and features

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G is expected to come with specs like a 6.43-inch AMOLED FHD+ 90Hz screen, in-screen fingerprint sensor, Snapdragon 750G, and a 4,500mAh battery with 30W rapid charging. For photography, it may feature a 16-megapixel front camera and a 64-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 2-megapixel triple camera system.
