The OxygenOS 12 comes with updated icons, textures, and animations. The OnePlus shelf, a feature that allows users to access certain apps like notes, toolbox and so on, is now accessible from the notifications bar. It includes three new cards such as Earphone Control Card, OnePlus Scout for universal search, and a OnePlus Watch Card for checking fitness data.

Work-Life Balance, which allows users to easily toggle between Work and Life modes, is now easily accessible through Quick Settings. Each mode can be activated by time, Wi-Fi network, or location. In addition, each mode can also be personalised with app-specific notification settings. Some other additions in the OxygenOS 12 update include new customisations for Canvas Always-On Display and support for pinch-to-zoom layouts while scrolling in the Gallery app.
