Last month, OnePlus announced the OnePlus 8T flagship and the rumour mill has already started spilling information about the next-generation flagship phones from the brand. Recent reports have revealed that the OnePlus 9 series is codenamed Lemonade. The model numbers of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro phones have also appeared. Now, a report by 91mobiles has revealed the alleged CAD render of the OnePlus 9.
The render reveals that the OnePlus 9 will be equipped with a punch-hole display like the OnePlus 8T. The rear panel of the device has a refreshed design and a unique camera setup.
OnePlus 9 CAD render
According to the publication, its source has revealed that the OnePlus 9 is fitted with a flat display measuring 6.65 inches. It is slightly bigger than the OnePlus 8T’s display that measures 6.55 inches. The OnePlus 9’s screen is expected to support a refresh rate of 120Hz.
The handset features a curved rear shell with a rectangular camera module. It houses two large camera sensors and a third lens along with an LED flash unit. Unfortunately, the report has no details on the configurations of the triple cameras. The device retains the placement of the power button, volume rocker and alert slider from previous OnePlus phones.
However, we advise taking this render with a pinch of salt, since reliable tipster Max Weinbach has claimed that it is inaccurate. There are a couple of points that suggest that the OnePlus 9 CAD render could be fake. The tipster has claimed that the render does not match with his information on OnePlus 9. Additionally, the OnePlus 8 that debuted earlier this year came with a curved display. OnePlus may not downgrade to a flat-screen on the next-gen model.
As for the specs, a variant of the OnePlus 9 was spotted on Geekbench with specs like Snapdragon 875 mobile platform, 8GB of RAM, and Android 11. The OnePlus 8T arrived as the company’s first flagship with 65W fast charging support. Hence, it is likely that the OnePlus 9 series will also carry forward this feature.
