OnePlus might finally enter the budget smartphone segment in India

As per 91Mobiles, OnePlus will decide whether to launch the budget Nord phone under Rs 20,000 by the middle of the second quarter of 2022. If the company goes ahead with the decision, the smartphone will hit the shelves after the launch of the Nord 3. The Nord 3 could follow the launch timeline of its predecessor that debuted in July last year. Hence, the affordable Nord device is tipped to arrive after July. Additionally, OnePlus is expected to launch the Nord 2 CE in February or March.

The report also reveals some key specifications of the budget Nord phone. The device is expected to feature a 90Hz AMOLED display, 50MP primary camera, and a 5G-compatible MediaTek processor. Apart from this, no other specs on the affordable Nord are known yet.

If OnePlus indeed launches a Nord smartphone under Rs 20,000, then it will heat up the competition in the budget segment. It will rival against the likes of Xiaomi, Realme, Motorola, Vivo and OPPO.
