OnePlus to launch two affordable smart TVs in India on July 2nd

Last year, OnePlus made its TV debut with the OnePlus Q1 and OnePlus Q1 Pro. The OnePlus Q1 series TVs offered premium features like QLED displays and Dolby Vision, and as a result, were priced on the higher side as well.

With brands like Xiaomi, Vu and now Realme offering competitively priced TVs, OnePlus has now announced that it will be launching affordable TVs for the Indian market. The announcement was made on the brand’s Twitter handles, as well as via press releases to the media.

OnePlus to launch two affordable TVs in India

OnePlus will launch the new affordable OnePlus TVs in India on July 2nd at 7pm IST. The company will launch the TVs through an online-only event on the said date. The company announced that it will be launching two new models with an affordable price tag. As per a report by Economic Times, the company will launch an entry-level TV priced under Rs 15,000, and a mid-range model priced between Rs 20,000 to Rs 40,000. Notably, the Q1 and Q1 Pro were priced at Rs 69,900 and Rs 99,900 respectively at the time of their launch.

Pete Lau, CEO and Founder, OnePlus, said “We believe the new range of OnePlus TVs will re-define the premium experience in their respective price segments by providing unparalleled quality, coupled with best-in-class displays and premium design.” 

Therefore, we can expect the TVs from the brand to offer a few premium features, despite their affordable prices.

OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro specifications and features

As for the OnePlus Q1 and Q1 Pro, both TVs feature 55-inch QLED displays. The screens offer features like high dynamic contrast ratio, Dolby Vision, and by far the highest NTSC colour gamut of 120 percent. On the audio front, the OnePlus TV Q1 comes with four speakers, the Pro model is equipped with eight speakers as well as a sliding soundbar integrated into the chassis. Both TVs flaunt premium design with carbon-fibre at the rear and bezel-less displays.

The Q1 and Q1 Pro boot the the Android 9-based Android TV OS and come with Google Assistant, Chromecast, Play Store, and YouTube. For OTT content, the OnePlus TVs feature OxygenPlay, which gets content from content providers like YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Eros Now, Hungama, Jio Cinema, and ZEE5. Other features include a rechargeable remote control with USB Type-C, OnePlus Connect, OnePlus TypeSync, Quick AppSwitch, Wi-Fi Sharing, Screen Shot, smart volume control, and TrackPad controls.

Connectivity-wise these TVs come with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB.
