Earlier this month, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the company is working on a smartwatch. The OnePlus Watch is expected to debut early in the coming year. According to a new report by Android Central, the company is also working on a fitness tracker called the OnePlus Band. At the same time, popular YouTuber and tipster Mukul Sharma shared the full specs sheet of the OnePlus Band along with its render. The first fitness tracker from OnePlus is said to be positioned against Xiaomi’s Mi Band series which is currently the leading fitness tracker market.
OnePlus Band specifications and features
Sharma has revealed that the OnePlus Band’s model number is 101N and it will be coming to the market in three colour variants such as Black, Navy, and Tangerine Gray. The device measures 40.4 x 17.6 x 11.95mm and weighs 22.6 grams with the strap.
It has a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen that delivers a resolution of 126 x 294 pixels. The screen will come with support for manually adjustable brightness. The leak suggests that the main tracker can be detached from the band. The device is equipped with a 100mAh battery and it will come with a USB Type-A wired charging dongle. It will deliver a battery life of 14 days.
It can be paired with Android 6.0 or higher devices using Bluetooth 5.0 LE. Once paired, it will support features like notifications for messages and calls, music playback, camera control, find my phone, Zen Mode on certain OnePlus phones, and more. It will come with support for English, Hindi, and Chinese languages. The support for iOS devices is expected to arrive after the OnePlus Band is officially unveiled.
The OnePlus Band will come with a couple of sensors such as a heart rate tracker, blood oxygen sensor, gyroscope, and 3-axis accelerometer. It will support a wide range of sports and fitness tracking odes such as outdoor/indoor run, outdoor walk, outdoor/indoor cycling, elliptical trainer, fat burner run, rowing machine trainer, cricket, badminton, pool swimming, yoga, and free training.
The fitness tracker will offer 5ATM and IP68 water and dust resistance. Some of the other features that will be available on the device include weather forecast, stopwatch, timer, alarm, and a few more.
OnePlus Band pricing and release date
The OnePlus Band is likely to arrive first in India with a pricing of less than Rs 3,000. The fitness tracker is expected to go official a few weeks before the OnePlus 9 series. Recent reports have revealed that the OnePlus 9 lineup will be announced by mid-March. There is a possibility that the company may unleash the OnePlus Band by February.
