At its AR-based launch event held today, OnePlus unveiled its much-awaited mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Nord. The brand also announced its first truly wireless earphones called the OnePlus Buds. Till now, OnePlus has offered neckband-styled Bullets wireless Bluetooth earphones in the audio segment. To recall, the company had launched the Bullets Wireless Z alongside OnePlus 8 series in April this year.
OnePlus had already revealed key details of the OnePlus Buds like long battery life and Warp Charge support. The brand’s TWS earbuds are affordably priced and are available in three colours.
OnePlus Buds specifications and features
The OnePlus Buds feature a semi in-ear design with a long stem, similar to Apple’s AirPods. They are offered in three colour options i.e. White, Gray and Nord Blue. The earbuds weigh just 4.6g while the case weighs 36g. OnePlus claims that the earphones have an ergonomic design and are fine-tuned to fit comfortably. The charging case has a similar look as Google’s Pixel Buds with an oval design. There is a small LED light on the outside which indicates the battery level.
In terms of audio performance, the OnePlus Buds come with Dolby Atmos and Bass Boost. The TWS earphones are equipped with 13.4mm dynamic drivers and feature environmental noise cancellation technology. The buds also feature a low-latency gaming mode.
As for the other features, users can use the ‘Find my Device’ option to locate lost or misplaced earbuds. The OnePlus Buds offer touch controls and an automatic pause feature when removing an earbud from the ear. The buds also feature IPX4 water resistance.
The OnePlus Buds are backed up by up to 30 hours of battery life, with each bud delivering seven hours of usage on a single charge. The truly wireless earphones support Warp Charge tech that is capable of offering 10 hours of playback with just a 10 minute charge. Unfortunately, the OnePlus Buds lack wireless charging support.
OnePlus Buds price in India
The OnePlus Buds are priced at Rs 4,990 and will be available for purchase on Amazon. At this price tag, they will compete against Vivo TWS Neo, OPPO Enco Free, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 and more in the country.
