- As per a tipster with a decent track record, the Nord 3 will feature a CPU upgrade
- However, a bulk of the hardware, including the camera, will be carried over from the predecessor
- OnePlus took the wraps off the OnePlus 11 5G and 11R 5G this week
OnePlus had a busy start to the week following the Indian launch of the OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G, as well as the global unveiling of the OnePlus Pad and the new OnePlus Buds Pro 2. Although we didn’t get to see the OnePlus Nord 3 5G, its arrival shouldn’t be far away, given that it’s been a frequent visitor to the rumour mill over the past few weeks. We’re now coming across another leak pertaining to the Nord 3, suggesting that the device is undergoing testing in India.
This information comes from tipster Debayan Roy on Twitter, who went on to highlight the specifications of the Nord 3. There are a few notable upgrades from the predecessor, specifically in terms of the processor, display, and camera capabilities, but the rest of the hardware appears to be the same as the Nord 2 5G.

OnePlus Nord 3 rumoured specifications
The tipster claims that the OnePlus Nord 3 would feature a 6.5-inch full HD+ screen coupled with a 120Hz refresh rate. This would be an upgrade from the Nord 2 5G’s 90Hz refresh rate, although Roy’s claims contradict previous reports about the device packing a 1.5K resolution screen.
MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chipset should handle the heavy-duty tasks on the Nord 3, while it should also enable 5G connectivity on the device. There’s also the likelihood that OnePlus would go with the Dimensity 8100 Max, as per Roy.
Meanwhile, the Nord 3 could feature a 32-megapixel front camera for excellent wide-angle selfies, while the rear panel will accommodate a 50-megapixel primary shooter (with OIS), backed by an 8-megapixel camera (possibly ultrawide) and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Based on this information, it seems like OnePlus isn’t interested in changing up the camera arrangement of the mid-ranger. Thankfully, customers can expect to find newer software tricks under the hood to spice things up.
There’s still some uncertainty about the battery equipped underneath the Nord 3, but the aforementioned tipster says it could either be a 4,500mAh or a 5,000mAh unit, with snappy 100W fast wired charging support. As pointed out by Gadgets360, previous reporting on the OnePlus Nord 3 has discussed attributes like up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Customers should find an optical under-display fingerprint scanner with the Nord 3. The iconic OnePlus alert slider will also be featured on the device, which has made a comeback on the OnePlus 11 after seemingly running out of favour within the manufacturer’s design team last year.
