OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G has been launched in India. The company also unveiled the OnePlus TV Y1S and Y1S Edge for the Indian market. The Nord CE 2 5G has arrived as the successor for the Snapdragon 750G powered OnePlus Nord CE 5G (review) from 2021.

The ‘CE’ in the moniker of the Nord CE 2 stands for ‘Core Edition,’ which means it retains the core specs and features of the OnePlus Nord 2. Some of the major highlights of the smartphone include a 90Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 9-series chipset, 64-megapixel triple cameras, and a big battery with fast charging support. The Nord CE 2 5G rivals with similarly priced devices such as Realme 9 Pro series, iQOO Z5 5G, Xiaomi 11i lineup, and Samsung Galaxy M52 5G.

The Nord CE 2 5G will be available for purchase through Amazon India, OnePlus India’s online store, OnePlus Store app, and the OnePlus Exclusive stores. The open sale of the phone will begin on February 22nd, 2022, in India.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G has a 6.43-inch AMOLED punch-hole display. It offers a 1,080 x 2,400 pixels Full HD+ resolution, a 90Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone ships with Android 12 OS with OxygenOS 11.3 UI on top. The company has confirmed that the Nord CE 2 will receive two major Android OS upgrades and three years of monthly security updates.
The Dimensity 900 chipset with 6GB / 8GB of LPDDR4x will be fuelling the Nord CE 2. Both RAM variants offer 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage and it features a microSD card slot for more storage. It has a 4,500mAh battery to keep the lights on and it carries support for 65W SuperVOOC charging.
The Nord CE 2 has a 16-megapixel selfie camera and a rear-facing triple camera unit, which is headlined by a 64-megapixel camera. It is coupled with an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens with a 119-degree FOV and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The device offers other features such as dual nano-SIM slots, support 8 5G bands, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The handset lacks an alert slider. It measures only 7.8mm in thickness and weighs around 173 grams.
