OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is now receiving the Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update in India. In a community post, the company announced that the stable update is rolled out in a phased manner. Hence, it may take some time to reach every device.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G was launched earlier in February this year. It shipped with Android 11-based OxygenOS 11.3 out of the box. The latest software update introduces a host of new features and improvements.

The stable Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 update carries a firmware version IV2201_11_C.05. It weighs 4.66GB in size, hence users are recommended to download it over WiFi or a strong cellular connection. As mentioned earlier, the OTA rollout is incremental and it may not reach all Nord CE 2 users. However, we expect the software update rollout to be completed in the coming weeks. In case you have not received the notification, you can manually check it by navigating to Settings> System > System Updates.
The Android 12-based OxygenOS 12 introduces new features, software optimisation, and July 2022 Android security patch. OnePlus recommends that the Nord CE 2 5G must have above 30 per cent battery and a minimum 5GB storage space.
As per the update changelog, the OxyegnOS 12 comes with a refreshed UI and optimised desktop icons with improved textures. The OnePlus Shelf feature now gets more customisation options with the OxygenOS 12. Users can customise cards with different sizes and shapes.
The latest update introduces three adjustable levels of darkness including Gentle, Medium, and Enhanced. It features a redesigned Zen Mode that provides a sense of security and mental comfort through visual changes. There is Work-Life Balance 2.0 that lets users manage and switch between work and personal accounts. The OxygenOS 12 comes with Scout which is a one-stop place for searching anything on the device like contacts, documents, music tracks, and more.
