OnePlus recently confirmed its new affordable smartphone series, speculated to be called the OnePlus Nord. Now, according to a report by the Android Central, not only will the upcoming OnePlus Nord signifiy the brand’s return to the mid-range segment, but will also mark a first for the company with its dual punch-hole selfie camera cutout.
OnePlus Nord to feature dual selfie cameras
Android Central reports that the upcoming OnePlus Nord will be the first from the brand to feature dual front cameras. This is in contradiction to the leaked renders, which showed a single punch-hole cutout on the front, like the recently launched OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. The new leak suggests that the Nord will feature a 32MP primary camera backed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. According to the publication, the information comes from an insider source.
Notably, the company has been offering a 16MP sensor on the front for three years, now starting with Sony IMX371 sensor on OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 6 series, and IMX471 on every other device since.
OnePlus Nord specifications and features
The OnePlus Nord is tipped to come with a punch-hole AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate panel and an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 765G processor and will support 5G connectivity. It is expected to have a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging. In the optics department, the phone is speculated to offer a triple camera setup with either 48MP or 64MP primary sensor.
Pete Lau has also confirmed that the smartphone will arrive in Europe and India first.
