OnePlus recently aired the first episode of its ‘New Beginnings’ documentary series showcasing the development process of the upcoming OnePlus Nord. Not only did the brand confirm that the smartphone will be called OnePlus Nord, but also gave us a glimpse of the handset.
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau also revealed that the OnePlus Nord will be the first product from the brand in recent years to be priced under Rs 40,000. However, apart from these details, the brand didn’t confirm any other details regarding the upcoming smartphone. Qualcomm has now revealed the processor that will power the Nord. Qualcomm took to Twitter to announce that the OnePlus Nord will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset which features support for 5G connectivity. Notably, at the launch of OnePlus 8 series, the brand had confirmed that it’s going all-in on 5G and this move is in line with that. While the chipset already powers several smartphones including the Realme X50 5G, the OnePlus Nord will be the phone with the Snapdragon 765G in India.
OnePlus Nord specifications and features
As of now, not much is confirmed about the OnePlus Nord’s specs. However, speculations suggest that the phone will feature an AMOLED 90Hz display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The smartphone will also be the first OnePlus smartphone to feature dual selfie cameras, as revealed in the documentary.
According t rumours, the dual selfie camera setup will comprise a 32MP primary lens backed by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The rear camera is confirmed to be a 48MP or 64MP triple primary lens. Lastly, the OnePlus Nord is speculated to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.
