OnePlus Nord vs Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition vs OPPO Reno3 Pro: price in India, specifications and features compared

OnePlus hosted an AR launch event last night for its latest smartphone, the OnePlus Nord. The Nord marks the return of OnePlus to the mid-range segment nearly five years after the launch of the OnePlus X in 2015. While the device is the most affordable OnePlus offering in several years, it’s pretty loaded when it comes to specifications.

The OnePlus Nord is equipped with a 90Hz dual punch-hole display, Snapdragon 765G chipset, same 48MP camera as the OnePlus 8 and 30W Warp charging. In the sub-Rs 30,000 smartphone segment in India, the OnePlus Nord goes up against the likes of the Realme X3 SuperZoom and OPPO Reno3 Pro. Let’s take a look at how these three smartphones stack up against each other.

OnePlus Nord vs Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition vs OPPO Reno3 Pro: price in India

The OnePlus Nord has been announced in three variants in India – 6GB + 64GB, 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. These variants have been priced at Rs 24,999, Rs 27,999 and Rs 29,999 respectively. The base 6GB variant will be made available in September, while the other two will go on sale starting August 4th. The smartphone will be available from Amazon and OnePlus.in.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition is being offered in two configurations – 8GB + 128GB and 12GB + 256GB. The models have been priced at Rs 27,999 for the base model and Rs 32,999 for the top-end variant. The device is being sold in India through Flipkart and Realme’s website.

Lastly, the OPPO Reno3 Pro was launched in two configurations in India – 8GB RAM +128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. These models are retailing for Rs 29,990 and Rs 32,990 respectively. The smartphone is available from leading online and offline retailers in the country.

As for the display, the OnePlus Nord ships with an AMOLED panel measuring 6.44-inches. The screen comes with a high refresh rate of 90Hz and a dual punch-hole cutout. The screen is also protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The FHD+ display supports sRGB and Display P3 colour gamut and has an aspect ratio of 20:9.

The Reno3 Pro ships with a 6.4-inch S-AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Reno3 Pro also has a dual punch-hole cutout design, which results in a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition is the only device on the list to feature an IPS LCD screen, but makes up for it with the highest refresh rate of 120Hz. The 6.6-inch screen offers 2,400 x 1,080 pixels resolution and a 90.5 percent screen-to-body ratio.

While the OnePlus Nord and Reno3 Pro are equipped with in-display fingerprint scanners, the Realme X3 SuperZoom features a side-mounted scanner. All three phones feature Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on top for protection.

The OnePlus Nord is the first phone in India to come with Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 765G processor with support for 5G connectivity. The processor is backed by an Adreno 620 GPU, up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition comes with most powerful chipset here, which is last year’s flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+  The chipset is accompanied by the Adreno 640 GPU and gets up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

The Reno 3 Pro, on the other hand, features MediaTek’s Helio P95 chipset. However, it also offers 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage.

All three smartphones boot Android 10 as the base software out of the box. The OnePlus Nord take this round with its clean and optimised Oxygen OS interface on top. The Realme X3 SuperZoom comes with Realme UI, which is a cleaner version of the of Reno 3 Pro’s ColorOS interface.

Coming to cameras, all three smartphones are equipped with a quad-camera setup on the back and dual punch-hole camera module on the front. The OnePlus Nord features a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 main sensor, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth unit.

The OPPO Reno3 Pro and Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition both feature a 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.8 aperture. The former gets a 13-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, a 119-degree 8-megapixel ultrawide lens and 2-megapixel macro lens. The Realme X3 SuperZoom, on the other hand, features an 8-megapixel periscope style f/3.4 lens, 8-megapixel f/2.3 ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel f/2.4 macro lens.

Coming to the front cameras, the OnePlus Nord offers a 32-megapixel Sony IMX616 primary snapper paired with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition also features the same front camera setup as the Nord. However, the Reno3 Pro bags this round with the world’s first 44-megapixel selfie camera. This is backed by a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The OnePlus Nord draws power from a 4,115mAh battery unit with support for Warp Charge 30T fast charging. The Realme X3 SuperZoom Edition gets a slightly bigger 4,200mAh battery with support for 30W Dart Flash charge. Lastly, the Reno3 Pro has a 4,025mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC 4.0 flash charging.

The OnePlus Nord is the go-to option if you are looking for a powerful mid-ranger which is future proof thanks to its 5G support. It also offers the most affordable variant in the list. However, if it’s an affordable flagship with a high refresh rate display you are after, the Realme X3 Pro is a no-brainer here. Lastly, those seeking the best cameras in this price segment could consider the OPPO Reno 3 Pro, although you would be making a compromise when it comes to performance.
