OnePlus Open foldable phone is just a few weeks away from its launch. This is according to reliable OnePlus leaker Max Jambor, who seems to have gotten details of this smartphone ahead of its launch. He took to his Twitter page to share some details of the OnePus Open.

While this device will be the first foldable smartphone OnePlus launches, it will be similar to an already existing foldable device. According to the tipster, the OnePlus Open foldable smartphone will look like OPPO’s N-series foldable phones. This resemblance will be in terms of aspect ratio, as the coming foldable from OnePlus will be shorter and wider than most other foldable smartphones. According to Jambor, the OnePlus Open will come equipped with a periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. He also says that the coming foldable device will feature big cameras, which would be great for photography. He added that the device will arrive in Black and Green colour options.

Other reports have claimed that the OnePlus Open will launch with the overlocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which works at 3.36GHz. This will keep it on par with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of performance. It’d also run on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.1, optimised for foldable devices.

The device will arrive with an 8-inch foldable AMOLED screen offering a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh. There will be a 20-megapixel camera above the foldable screen. On the outside, the device will feature a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen that offers a Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be equipped with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.

The rear camera setup of the phone will comprise a Sony IMX890 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide snapper, and a 32-megapixel telephoto periscope telephoto camera. It will offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, and a 4,805mAh battery. The device will support 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

OnePlus Open launch date, price

OnePlus will unveil its first foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open, on August 29th, 2023. This device will launch in China as the Find N3, but globally as the OnePlus Open. Some markets like Indonesia and Thailand are also expected to receive the Find N3.

For now, there is no information regarding the pricing of this coming foldable device. But it might launch at a more affordable price than the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. Its pricing might also be a very solid selling point for this device as it goes up against other foldable devices in the industry.
