OnePlus had recently confirmed that its upcoming smart TV will be arriving in the market as OnePlus TV. Today, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed that the OnePlus TV will be launching in September exclusively in India on Amazon. The company has also made ‘notify me’ registrations live on the e-commerce site via a dedicated landing page.

In a post on OnePlus forums, Lau says, “We all know, “content is king,” which remains one of the major reasons for television’s continued relevance in our lives. Yet, the content ecosystem is quite different from one country to another. We have always had a very positive relationship with content providers in India, who have always been willing to partner with us, which guarantees great content for our users.” It’s safe to assume from this that OnePlus will by partnering with key content providers for OnePlus TV in India.

The OnePlus TV will be a “premium flagship” that will offer superior image and sound quality, along with an attractive design. The TV will also feature smart features, and serve as a daily “smart social hub”.

Recent reports have also revealed that OnePlus will be releasing the OnePlus TV in screen options such as 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 75-inch. It is speculated that one of these models will be featuring an OLED display. A voice assistant is also expected to be on board, as is Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and Android 9 Pie.
