After the months of teasing, OnePlus has debuted in the television market with the launch of its first TV sets. Called the OnePlus TV Q1 and OnePlus TV Q1 Pro, the brand’s first televisions were introduced today at an event in India, alongside the OnePlus 7T smartphone. Just like the company’s phones, the OnePlus Q1 and Q1 Pro are also premium products, while being priced lesser than other high-end options. Both of them are powered by Android 9.0 and come with a handful of smart features. The Chinese tech giant is touting that its new offerings provide the most holistic smart experience on a TV.
OnePlus TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro specifications and features
The OnePlus TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro share almost all the specs and design, except for the speakers. While the OnePlus TV Q1 comes with four speakers, the Pro model is equipped with eight speakers. Also, the latter has a sliding soundbar that slides down whenever you switch on the TV. As far as design is concerned, the OnePlus TVs flaunt a premium design and are clad in carbon fibre at the rear. They have border-less screens and flaunt a matte finish.
The OnePlus TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro are amongst the most affordable TVs in this segment to flaunt premium 55-inch QLED screen panels. They sport high dynamic contrast ratio, Dolby Vision, and by far the highest NTSC colour gamut of 120 percent. The duo comes equipped with Gamma Colour Magic chipset, which is touted to sport a wider colour gamut on the TV’s screen. Notably, the speakers on the Pro model is capable of producing up to 50W sound output and have Dolby Atmos for an immersive media experience.
The Android TV platform-powered OnePlus TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro come with Google Assistant, Chromecast, Play Store, and YouTube. They will get Android TV update for three years. As for the other apps, there’s support for OnePlus Connect app too, which offers a slew of useful features. The televisions offer OnePlus TypeSync function that lets you use your smartphone as a smart remote for your TV. This lets you search for the content by typing on the phone’s remote or by using voice commands. The TVs offer Quick AppSwitch, which allows you to quickly switch from different apps or find the most-frequently-used apps on the dock bar. The other key features include Wi-Fi Sharing, Screen Shot, smart volume control, and TrackPad controls.
OnePlus TV Q1 and Q1 Pro ships with OxygenPlay that solves the pain points of VoD (video on demand) services by providing relevant content on the home page. The company has introduced the OxygenPlay app in collaboration with content providers like YouTube, Prime Video, Eros Now, Hungama, Jio Cinema, and ZEE5.
As for the other features, the OnePlus TV Q1 devices offer a minimalistic remote control. Notably, the remote doesn’t require the AAA batteries as it’s easily rechargeable via the USB Type-C port. Connectivity-wise, you have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, and USB.
OnePlus TV Q1 and TV Q1 Pro price in India
The OnePlus TV Q1 has been priced at Rs 69,900, while the OnePlus TV Q1 Pro is being offered for Rs 99,900. They will go on sale in the country starting from September 28th on Amazon.
