OnePlus TV U and TV Y series launched in India: price, specifications

OnePlus has been teasing a new affordable series of televisions in India for some time now. The brand had previously revealed the approximate pricing of the three models as well as several key specifications. More recently, the display sizes and resolutions of the TVs were leaked out. Now, the brand has officially launched the OnePlus U series and Y series of televisions in the country.

These TVs come with a 93 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, up to 55-inch displays and up to 4K resolution. The U-series is positioned below the Q-series and comes with premium features, while the Y-series is more budget-centric. Here are all details of the newly launched TVs.

The OnePlus TV U series comes in a 55-inch model, which offers features like a Gamma Engine, 93 percent wide colour gamut, MEMC, super-resolution, noise reduction, dynamic contrast, colour space mapping, Dolby Vision, HDR 10 and HDR10+ among others. The display has a high screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent, thanks to minimal bezels. The OnePlus U series also features a carbon fiber back panel with a hidden port design.

On the audio front, the TV features 4 speaker units (two full range and two tweeters) with a combined output of 30W. The audio is further tuned by Dolby Atmos, Dolby Audio and DTS-HD. The Android TV boots Android 9.0 Pie and comes with pre-installed apps like Oxygen Play, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, Spotify, Google Play Store, File Browser, OnePlus Pictorial and more. OnePlus announced that it has partnered with over 15 leading OTT platforms in India, all of which will have their content listed in the Oxygen Play for easy browsing.

The TV also has integrated support for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. Other features include Chromecast, DLNA, dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, three HDMI with ARC support, Ethernet port, AV input, a USB 2.0 and a USB 3.0 ports. The TV is being offered with a Bluetooth remote with dedicated buttons for Prime Video, Netflix, Google Assistant and Oxygen Play. The OnePlus TV Y series comprises 32-inch HD and 43-inch FHD models. These TVs also feature 93 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut, Gamma Engine, noise reduction, colour space mapping, dynamic contrast and anti-aliasing. Both models have slim bezels and feature a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. On the audio front, these TVs feature two full-range speakers with a combined output of 20W and Dolby Audio technology.

Other features of the Y series include Android 9, Google Assistant, Chromecast, Oxygen Play, Bluetooth remote and more.

OnePlus TV U and TV Y series price in India

The OnePlus TV U series 55-inch has been priced at Rs 49,999. On the other hand, the OnePlus TV Y series will retail at Rs 12,999 and Rs 22,999 for the 32-inch and 43-inch models, respectively. The OnePlus TV Y series 32-inch model will go on sale starting July 5th on Amazon. OnePlus is yet to announce the availability of the OnePlus TV Y 43-inch and OnePlus TV U 55-inch models. These TVs will also be made available on OnePlus Experience Stores and other retail channels soon.

As part of the introductory offer, OnePlus is offering an Amazon Echo Dot for free with the 43-inch and 55-inch models. Those buying the 32-inch TV will be able to purchase the Echo Dot at a discounted price of Rs 1,999.
