The OnePlus Watch is the company’s first smartwatch. Reports of its first smartwatch had appeared in 2015, but the company reportedly decided to scrap it to concentrate on its smartphone business. However, it was only in December 2020 that the company finally confirmed its plan to launch the OnePlus Watch. It is now scheduled to go official along with the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and OnePlus 9R on March 23rd in India.

Here is the first look at the OnePlus Watch

The OnePlus Watch can be seen sporting a circular dial. On the right, two buttons are visible. It is unclear whether the bezels of the watch are made of metal or plastic. The watch is paired with a textured silicone strap with a button clasp. Overall, the design doesn’t look too premium and veers more towards the sporty side. It’s unclear if OnePlus will launch other strap options with the watch.

OnePlus Watch specifications and features (expected)

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed that the OnePlus Watch will feature a water-resistant body and will offer seamless connectivity with other OnePlus products including the OnePlus TVs. He revealed that the OnePlus Watch will run RTOS, and not Wear OS. He also claimed that the OnePlus Watch will be priced affordably.

Pricebaba’s exclusive report that emerged earlier this week revealed that the OnePlus Watch is an IP68 rated water-resistant device and has a 46mm dial. The exact size of its battery is not known yet. With Warp Charge support onboard, it can last for up to a week by charging it for only 20 minutes.

The health features that are expected to be available on the OnePlus Watch include a heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, SpO2 sensor, automatic workout detection, and a swimming mode. It is expected to arrive with other features like customisable watch faces, 4GB of native storage, ability to answer/reject calls, notifications support, and a remote control function for OnePlus TVs. It is likely to arrive in Silver and Black colour variants.
