OPPO had introduced 5x lossless zoom technology at MWC 2017. The latest 10x zoom technology is similar to its predecessor. It combines a periscope-like zoom mechanism, a triple camera, and high-precision image processing technology. The zoom technology enables users to capture good images from a considerable distance. OPPO states that its solution is a triple lens camera structure which consists of a 120-degree ultra wide angle, a 48MP main camera, and a telephoto lens too. The combination can achieve an effective zoom range of 16mm all the way up to 160mm. Both the main camera and telephoto lens feature Optical Image Stabilisation that allows users to shoot clear images at 10x zoom with their hands.
OPPO claims that the 10x lossless zoom is already in mass-production and will be incorporated in a retail-ready product soon. The first smartphone with 10z lossless zoom will be available Q2 2019.
Alongside, OPPO also announced its plans for 5G phones. The company’s first 5G smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset and the X50 modem. OPPO will focus on cloud gaming enabling features like triple gaming that will benefit smartphone gamers. No further details about OPPO’s 5G smartphone were announced, but the device will be on display at MWC 2019, so we’ll have more details once the show commences. Stay tuned to Pricebaba for updates.
